The IDEA® (International Design Excellence Awards) program is the premier international competition honouring design
excellence in products, ecodesign, interaction design, packaging, strategy, research and concepts. Entries are invited
from designers, students and companies worldwide.
Winning entries receive coverage in hundreds of print and broadcast media networks around the world. IDSA has been
honouring design excellence via the IDEA Awards since 1980. IDEA was formerly known as the Industrial Design
Excellence Awards.
Who can enter: Open to designs and designers worldwide. Entrants from Brazil must apply through IDEA/Brasil to take
advantage of additional winner benefits.

Craftsmanship produces superior quality products, with attention to detail that reflect the careful artisan precision. by
combining skill, commitment and judgement, the craftsman establishes a close relationship between head and hand,
man and machine, which is vital to our physical, mental and societal well-being. although many of the craftsman's tasks
may be repetitive, it doesn't mean he/she easily falls into a rut. instead, he/she is constantly looking for new tools and
techniques to improve the work process. with imagination, he/she plays the role of industrial engineer who is normally
charged with such a task. Following the 'making is thinking', we seek out for contemporary and innovative high-value
home accessories, tableware, utensils, tools, furniture

design-enthusiasts

Red Dot Award: Product Design 2010

The strategic use of design is become more and more important. Winning a red dot award not only shows in a very
visual way that you belong to the international design elite, it also makes it possible to communicate this achievement.
The red dot as an internationally acclaimed mark of quality is a decisive marketing factor that winners can use to position
themselves on the international market. Winning in the red dot design award opens the door to the entire “red dot world”:
the red dot label, the red dot design museum, the red dot online exhibition, the red dot design yearbook or the red dot on
tour travelling exhibitions – the possibilities for using the award are almost endless.
Who can enter: Manufacturers and designers from around the world are invited to compete for the internationally
recognised mark of quality, the red dot. The condition for taking part in the “red dot award: product design 2010” is that
the products entered are made in series production and were not available on the market prior to 1 January 2008 or will
be available on the market prior to 1 July 2010.
Registration deadline: 22 January 2010
Submission deadline: 29 January - 12 February 2010
