Calling all established or young designers and craftspeople: Take the international design world by storm at the Milan
Furniture Fair in 2011 with a contemporary design that stretches the boundaries of the traditional craft of weaving.
The competition, in association with VISI magazine, calls for weavers or collaborations between crafters and designers
to create an indoor or outdoor furniture piece or home accessory, or develop a new weaving technique, style or pattern
that goes beyond the accepted limitations or explores the potential of weaving, which can be applied to, or even form,
structures – literally anything from chairs; stools; or couches to carpets; cushions; and lamps.
